Shannon received her law degree from the University of Groningen, the Netherlands, where she also completed her Master's degrees in Criminal Law and Private Law. After her studies, she began her career as a lawyer in Curacao, where she has been practicing diligently for many years now.

In addition to her work as an attorney, Shannon is active within the legal community on multiple fronts. She writes articles for the legal journal SDU Netherlands and teaches at the law school of both the University of Curaçao (UoC) and the University of the Dutch Caribbean (UdC). She was also a board member of the Curaçao Young Bar Association and regularly gives guest lectures at primary and secondary schools to make legal knowledge accessible to a broad audience.
